Greater energy, no pain and better sports performance with Chiropractic...

Spike a fever – run for some Tylenol. Get an ear infection – dash for an antibiotic. Big Pharma wants us to race for a drug every time a symptom or illness challenges us. But is it better to let your body run its own race without interference from the drug companies?

Research reported in the Journal of Leukocyte Biology1 found evidence that elevated body temperature helps immune cells work harder to fight colds and the flu – so much for lowering fevers with Tylenol. Still yet another study from the journal Pediatrics2 reports doctors write over 10 million UNNECESSARY prescriptions for antibiotics every year, dangerously raising the risk of antibiotic resistant infections for society as a whole.

Chiropractors acknowledge that symptoms are your body's attempt to save itself… not the start of a 100 yard dash to CVS. Current best practice is to wait for natural responses like fever and inflammation to do their job, instead of 'false starting' with drugs and interfering with what nature knows best.  As long as you're in adjustment (clear Nerve System), your body will innately know how to run its own healing race.

Spicy Carrot Salad

Ok- so I will be starting to add yummy healthy recipes to my blog for your enjoyment. Here is my Spicy Carrot Salad. Making your diet 80% vegetable is a sure way of keeping your body in an alkaline state which leads to great health and vitality.  I have a tons of recipes to share that are simple and packed with nutrients and oh yes -so delicious! This one is great hot or cold but I like it best cold especially in the summer. Super easy like all my recipes only requires minimal preparation time with lots of flavor. Always choose organic if you have the option. If you are limited by where you live, wash everything thoroughly.

2 lbs organic regular or rainbow carrots for more color (picture shows regular)
2 organic leeks
2-3 knuckles of organic ginger depending on hot "hot" you want it
1-2 tbsp red palm oil or coconut oil - start with 1 and then add if needed after you add the carrots
Himalayan sea salt

Peel carrots and shred in a food processor
Removed woody part of leek and chop the rest
Peel ginger and throw in food processor with carrot

Heat 1 tbsp red palm oil on medium to high heat and add leeks, lower to medium, stirring until soft.
Add carrots and ginger mixing in the oil - add more oil if carrots are sticking
Add sea salt to taste
Cover and cook for about 10 -12 minutes on medium heat and mix a few times to saturate the carrots with oil

Let cool then chill in the fridge
Enjoy!
